SAN FRANCISCO, October 5, 2016 — Sojern, the world’s leading performance marketing engine for more than a thousand travel brands, today announced that industry veteran Shafiq Khan is joining its board of directors.
Shafiq Khan has a long and distinguished career in the travel industry, having spent the past 30 years devising and implementing eCommerce and distribution strategies for top global brands. Most recently he was SVP of eCommerce, responsible for leading Marriott’s distribution channels, including Marriott.com. Prior to that, Khan pioneered a series of groundbreaking initiatives which fundamentally restructured airline distribution at US Airways and United Airlines, including the development and launch of the airline industry’s first online booking product and electronic ticketing.
“We are honored to welcome Shafiq Khan to our Board of Directors at a time when Sojern is launching an entire suite of new performance marketing and distribution products for the rapidly evolving travel industry” said Mark Rabe, Sojern’s CEO. “We’re looking forward to tapping into Shafiq’s tremendous industry expertise as we work to disrupt old technology paradigms and bring fully integrated marketing and distribution solutions to travel providers.”
“I’m delighted to join Sojern’s Board of Directors and help advise such a talented team as they push to become travel’s best performance marketing platform,” said Shafiq Khan. “In a Trillion dollar industry that is rapidly adopting programmatically driven, real-time data marketing solutions, Sojern has a really great runway ahead of them.”
